Functional art is an art form everyone is surrounded by., we have to use, see it, qualify it to live day-to-day. Useful objects that add to the quality to the daily routine.. . from housewares to books on the shelf that remind us of our on going path, and how we function, writes the background story of our daily lives. Decor art, wall colors, paintings, photos, are the visual frosting on the cake, as functional onto itself. Murals large and storied, are the visual over the top blockbusters of decorative modalities.

I’ve been a professional illustrator, sign painter, muralist, since 1970, and Ive worked in every segment of society, from stage theater, small business, corporate, entertainment venues and the film industry. Paint, design, illustrate, airbrush, hand letter, pinstripe, roll it on, roll it out, splatter it, spray it, yes I have been painting forever. Years ago on a job site, I got the name “kenny the brush” it stuck like wet paint ! I grew up on the west side of Chi-town, my interests were always art oriented, and onto 4 golden years at Chicago Academy of Fine, in the late 60s, it was an adventure. Today, always busy, I design-produce murals on canvas per request, custom hand lettering / 23K gold-leaf work, framed decor paintings, portraits and caricatures. Always Grateful to the Universe for experiencing the creative flow, and spreading the fun !
